CHAMPS.jpeg

This is Mick and Hayley.

Ever since the start of Guard-Up Boxing, they have gone above and beyond supporting what we do, sharing social media posts/videos, encouraging others to take part, and helping with some of the community events we've been a part of.

They are always showing encouragement and support from the sidelines, not just to their child taking part in the sessions, but to everyone attending.

It's a real privilege to have parents like them on board - the Championship belt is well deserved.

Thank you for all you do, Champs!

This is Paul.

Having had previous combat sport experience with taekwondo, Paul was looking for another fitness based hobby to help with general fitness and mental wellbeing. I'm sure he won't mind me saying but at 60 years old, he is an inspiration. Always gives 110% to anything we ask of him in the sessions. Keeps in great shape outside of the sessions and even spends time at home perfecting his craft and striving to be the best version of himself. He shows great perseverance during the sessions to nail the techniques and combinations, and always takes advice and tips on board.

It's a pleasure to have you with us, champ!

This is Ellie.

Ellie has been with us in Millbrook since we started and has progressed at an incredible rate. She is always working hard to perfect the techniques and listens really well. She is really helpful with her training partners, and she even took the initiative to partner up with the new girl and helped her through the combinations. Ellie is a future coach for sure. A pleasure to have in the team.

Well done Ellie

This is Mathew.

Mathew has been with us from the start and has improved greatly. Always attends even with a long list of injuries - swollen finger where he can barely punch, sprained ankle...he still turns and up and tries his best. At times Mathew can be very encouraging with his training partners, as well as competitive in the fitness challenges. If he remains focused, the sky's the limit.

Well done Mathew

This is Liam.

Liam, although keen to start his boxing journey with us, was quite shy, and nervous, and almost afraid to apply himself at the beginning. Now, showing the type of champ he is, gets stuck in to all the physical stuff, gives 100% every session and has leapt out of his shell completely. Great progress so far...looking forward to seeing how he develops further.

Well done Liam

This is William.

After just a couple of sessions with us, William turned up during the quiet Easter half-term break and absolutely smashed his session.

He took in lots of information, tried extremely hard to nail the techniques, and showed unbelievable grit and determination in the physical challenges, and persevered through to the end.

Great spirit and attitude!

This is Anna & Molly.

Mother and daughter, dynamic duo, double trouble.

Since our first sessions in Millbrook, these fabulous ladies have consistently turned up, consistently improved and consistently continue to work hard in every session. They have an awesome attitude to learning, and remain positive and full of smiles - even in the tough sessions.

Its a pleasure to be a part of their journey!

This is Callum.

Callum has been with us from the start, and has recently upped his attendance to twice per week - and it's really paying off. He is remarkably fitter, and can even fit into some of his old football shirts again.

Every session Callum is keen to try out new techniques and concentrates fully to make sure he nails them. He's great with the younger students and always gives 100% in the fitness challenges. Callum is always smiling, and enjoys the new skills he his learning.

Well done Callum

sam champ.jpeg

This is Sam.

Our most consistent attendee to date. Since the very first week of our taster sessions, Sam has only missed one session through injury.

He helps out off his own back with our Millbrook students, stays behind and helps pack away, never shys away from a challenge, and always gives it beans in every session! Great commitment.

Well deserved champ!
